👩‍🏫 Expert Trainers

The training will be led by distinguished experts in the field, including:

  • Alison Tomlin (University of Leeds)
  • Dimitris Goussis (Khalifa University)
  • Alessandro Stagni & Timoteo Dinelli (POLIMI)
  • Tibor Nagy (HUN-REN RCNS, Budapest)
  • Tamás Turányi, Máté Papp, Éva Valkó, András Gy. Szanthoffer (ELTE Chemical Kinetics Laboratory)

📚 Course Content

The program covers a broad range of topics:

  • Fundamentals of reaction kinetics and local sensitivity analysis
  • Uncertainty quantification in combustion measurements and kinetic parameters
  • Sources and generation of combustion kinetic mechanisms (including machine learning applications)
  • Validation and global uncertainty analysis methods such as Monte Carlo, Latin hypercube sampling, HDMR, and polynomial chaos
  • Optimization techniques and skeletal mechanism reduction methods
  • Time-scale analysis and methods based on time-scale separation (CSP, ILDM, ISAT, REDIM)
  • Practical use of software tools: GUI-HDMR, OpenSMOKE++, OptiSMOKE++, DRG, DRGEP, SEM, Optima++
  • Introduction to combustion databases and evaluation tools (ReSpecTh.hu, combustiondata.elte.hu, k-evaluation.elte.hu)

Participants are kindly asked to install the required software and register on the indicated websites prior to the event.

🖼 Poster Session

Attendees are encouraged—but not required—to submit posters. Posters will be displayed throughout the school, with a dedicated session on Tuesday afternoon.
