1st General Meeting – Call for abstracts

savethedate cypher.001

We are pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts for the CYPHER COST Action First General Meeting, a key event aimed at fostering collaborative research and knowledge exchange in the field of Renewable Synthetic Fuel (RSF) Combustion. This meeting will bring together a diverse network of researchers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry partners with the common goal of advancing innovative solutions for the decarbonisation of Energy-Intensive Industries (EIIs) in Europe and beyond.

The meeting will discuss the current developments in the working groups of the Action, focusing on the combustion characteristics of Renewable Synthetic Fuels (WG1), advanced simulations and data-driven insights for combustion processes (WG2), hybrid physics-based data-driven models for reacting flows (WG3), digital twins (WG4). Targeted discussions focusing on data and software sharing, including returns on experience and best practices, will be specifically organised for young researchers and innovators joining the event.

As an integral part of this event, we are pleased to host a dedicated Workshop on Digitalization for the Decarbonization of energy-intensive industries. This workshop will provide a unique forum to explore the complex challenges associated with the digitalisation of hard-to-decarbonize industries. Participants discuss current trends, barriers, and policy considerations shaping the decarbonisation landscape. The workshop aims to facilitate a comprehensive exploration of the strategies, technologies, and collaborative approaches needed to advance meaningful decarbonisation initiatives in these important sectors.

Theme:

The primary objective of the first General Assembly is to establish a solid foundation for collaborative research and knowledge exchange. The event will consist of keynote lectures and poster presentations. We invite submissions that address key research areas and challenges related to:

  • Renewable Synthetic Fuels (RSF) combustion (Working Group 1).
  • Generation of high-fidelity database for training machine learning training algorithms (Working group 2)
  • Development of hybrid physics-based machine learning models for reacting flows (Working group 3)
  • Digital Twins(Working group 4).

You are invited to submit an extended abstract of no more than 2 pages, including relevant figures, tables, and references. The abstract should contain information to which working group is submitted and should follow the template available here: Template.docx.

📰 Selected papers will be invited for peer-reviewed publication in a special issue of the Open Access journal Results in Engineering.

🏅Prizes will be awarded for the best poster from each working group!

More information can be found here: CallForAbstracts.pdf

Abstracts should be submitted electronically to cypher.costaction@gmail.com in PDF format by February 24th, 2024. Include 1st General Meeting Abstract Submission in the subject line.

Acceptance for poster presentation will be notified by March 1st, 2024.
